own bearings

Human Design for business & life

Find your bearings.
In your own conversation.

Bring a decision, a full week, or a question about yourself. Use Human Design as a lens for reflection in the tools where you already think.

Choose your starting point

Your judgment stays yours. For adults 18 and older.

02 / Bring the chart tools

Connect where you already work.

Choose your MCP client. Sign in to Own Bearings when prompted and review its access. You can connect before entering birth details, then provide them when you choose to calculate.

One endpoint. Your choice of client.

This is the public Own Bearings endpoint. Use the setup formats below with a client that supports MCP and OAuth DCR with PKCE. External client connections have not been tested.

Hosted clients need a public endpoint and an approved OAuth callback. Localhost and private-network addresses do not work from a provider's servers.

Chart tools use charts:read. Your client may also request profile:write; review the permissions before authorizing. Saving through a bot still needs a separate, explicit confirmation of your birth details. Connecting alone does not save a profile.

Open your account to manage your profile and revoke connections. Hosted HTTPS callback origins require operator approval before connecting. Loopback callbacks are supported.

Claude Code

Run in your terminal, then open Claude Code and use /mcp to authenticate Own Bearings.

Claude Code command
claude mcp add --transport http own-bearings 'https://ownbearings.com/mcp'

Approve the connection in the browser. No API key is needed.

Cursor

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in your project or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects. Merge the entry if you already have servers configured.

Cursor MCP configuration
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "own-bearings": {
      "url": "https://ownbearings.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Enable Own Bearings in Cursor's MCP settings, connect, and complete the OAuth sign-in.

Codex CLI

Run these commands in your terminal. The login uses automatic Dynamic Client Registration (DCR).

Codex CLI commands
codex mcp add own-bearings --url 'https://ownbearings.com/mcp'
codex mcp login own-bearings --oauth-client-registration dcr

Finish the browser sign-in and review access before authorizing.

Claude Desktop

Connection not verified yet. The public endpoint is available, but Claude Desktop's hosted callback has not been verified or approved. Its setup requires that approval first.

Once available: open Customize > Connectors > Add > Custom > Web. Name it Own Bearings, paste the endpoint below, and choose Sign in now. For OAuth client registration, choose Register automatically. This server supports DCR, not published client identity documents (CIMD).

Claude Desktop endpoint
https://ownbearings.com/mcp
Any compatible MCP client

Choose a Streamable HTTP server and paste this endpoint. The client must support OAuth discovery, Dynamic Client Registration, and authorization-code flow with PKCE S256.

Streamable HTTP endpoint
https://ownbearings.com/mcp

Request charts:read for chart tools. Request profile:write only if you want the client to offer saving your primary profile. Loopback redirects are supported; hosted HTTPS callbacks require operator approval. Client support varies.

If your client only supports bearer authentication, use developer access to manage an API key. Keep keys in your client's private credential settings, never in a chat.

Client formats checked October 19, 2026 against vendor documentation. External client connections have not been tested.

03 / Three ways to explore

A chart is a starting point.

01 / Calculate

Know the inputs.

Calculate a Human Design chart from birth date, time, and UTC offset, with an optional time zone and uncertainty range.

02 / Compare

Look at two charts.

Compare two people's charts as a prompt for reflection. Share another person's birth details only with their permission.

03 / Transits

Explore a moment.

Check transit data for a time you choose. Use it as a lens, with your circumstances and judgment still in view.

04 / Plans

Start small. Choose your allowance.

Proposed prices, pending approval. Paid billing is currently unavailable. The free plan is available; no payment will be collected. If enabled later, paid plans will renew monthly through Stripe.

The allowance counts successful tool calls across all your clients and API keys, shared per user. It resets each UTC calendar month. All plans currently support one primary profile. Multiple saved people, delivered check-ins, and recurring reports are not available.

Cancel anytime through Manage billing in your account. Paid access continues until the end of the paid period. See Terms, Privacy, and Refunds before subscribing.

05 / A few practical questions

Before you connect.

Is this advice?

No. Human Design is a framework for reflection, not scientifically validated guidance or medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice. You make your own decisions.

Do I have to save my birth details?

No. Saving is optional. You can calculate with details you supply for a request. If you save a primary profile, you can delete it in your account. Your chat host may retain what you share under its own terms.

What does my chat provider see?

Your chosen host processes the conversation, birth details, and chart results you share with it. Own Bearings does not directly call an AI model provider. Review both our privacy policy and your host's policy.

Can I cancel or request a refund?

Cancel future renewals through Manage billing in your account. Request a full refund of your initial payment within seven days. Renewals and partial periods are not refundable except for billing errors or legal rights. Read the refund policy for how to request one.

Can I use Barrie or a hosted connector right now?

The Barrie template link is not available yet. Local MCP clients can use the setup formats above if they can reach the configured endpoint. The public endpoint is available. Hosted connectors still require verified, operator-approved callback origins. No hosted client connection is verified yet.
